Mana
After thinking long and hard on what we can do with the site, a great idea came to me. Picture a plane with no gold, no money, no gold strings, picture it to be a basically role played version of Magic: the gathering.
That’s what were trying to aim at, a rpg text based simulation game where you can rp for fun and freedom with a nice variety of races, spells and units.
But how can that be achieved without Mana, how can it be done when the main core behind the card game is missing.
Yeah you know what I’m talking about: MANA
So here it is. The new rule that will make this site even more MTG like.
The first thing everyone must know, is how Mana works, Mana is used for spells, to make portals, it acts and runs as the basis for all things, even buying troops.
In this rpg, buying a unit is like playing a spell, it costs Mana, Mana that we get on a daily basis, but, at an incredibly small pace.
There is a building called ‘Mana Refinery’ in every city, what this does is add a new form of Mana to your list; it adds Colorless Mana, Mana you can use to buy troops with or to use portals.
Every Monday Your Mana refinery opens, giving you one Mana every day, *be sure to collect it from the thread* If you miss a day, then you lose the Mana it gave you, and you wait for the next day.
Continue this simple and easy process until Friday. Then on Saturday, mana income stops and you must post in the collections thread stating how much of each type of mana you are have recieved throughout the week. After that you are able to spend your mana on troops or whatever else you may desire.
If you do not spend your colorless mana by Sunday, 11:59pm GMT (6:59pm EST, 5:59 CST, 4:49 MST), then you will lose it. What we will say is that your colorless mana pool "empties". Your colored mana pools, (your blue, black, red, green, and white mana), never empties. You keep that mana until it is spent. The reason for this is that colored mana is harder to get, and you need it during battles for activated abilities, and for portals.
You may increase your Income of Mana by doing tasks, or posting upgrades, anything that technically benefits a city can be used to increase your Mana income, note thought, upgrades are small, so doing a 50 page post will be the same as a 5 page post, anything below 3 paragraphs of a post in upgrading will hardly do anything to increase its value.
On Sunday, the Planeswalkers will remove all Mana collecting posts, and by Monday the process will repeat. We will keep a check on the Mana you have collected, so be warned, it’s easy to know if you’ve cheated.
All troops cost Mana, which are displayed in the Troop Sections; you may also spend Mana on other things, like on quests to give yourself more of a [chance] on winning a spell or weapon.
Portals also cost Mana, each Portal needs 2 colorless mana, or 1 colored mana to open, and they only stay open for 24 hours, so make sure when you started your post and spent your Mana, all your allies posts too, otherwise they’ll need to re-activate the portal. You only need to spend mana on a portal once per 24 hours, and once in Dominaria, do not need to spend it to open those. Consider the Dominaria portals, "free". You can only use colorless mana to open a portal on Saturday or Sunday, because you are not able to spend mana until you've "collected" it, which is not possible until Saturday.
Note: You may only collect your own color mana from your Mana Refinaries. Should you somehow stumble upon another colored mana, you can use it for portals, or as a colorless mana, but you cannot collect anything other than your own color.
